A solenoid valve is an electromechanical device that uses an electromagnetic coil (solenoid) to control the flow of fluids (liquids, gases, or steam) through a valve body.

Its core working principle is as follows:
1、When an electric current is applied to the solenoid coil, it generates a magnetic field.
2、This magnetic field attracts a movable core (plunger) inside the valve, which then opens or closes the valve’s orifice.
3、When the power is cut off, the magnetic field disappears, and a spring (or other restoring mechanism) pushes the plunger back to its original position, reversing the valve’s state (closing or opening it again).

Solenoid valves are typically categorized by their operating modes (e.g., normally closed (NC)—closes when power is off; normally open (NO)—opens when power is off; universal) and valve structures (e.g., poppet valves, diaphragm valves).
